Two interesting events occured at college lately:
1. I scheduled a classroom for a student club to use. The students signed a contract agreeing, among other things, to the University policy to not serve drinks with red dye because the dye would stain the carpet. The classroom is located next to my office and I happened to walk by as the club was pouring red punch for the attendees. When I mentioned to the club that a contract was signed agreeing not serve red punch, the response was, "oh, yeah, we agreed to that but we thought you meant that we shouldn't serve cola products...we didn't think you actually meant red punch". Wait, I am so confused.
2. I was paying for my lunch in the college cafe. My total was $3.21 so I gave the student employee a 5 dollar bill, 2 dimes and a penny. He handed me a dollar bill and .86 cents. Um...So, with my amazing math skills I said, "I think you actually owe me $2" Him: "Hm, I don't know." Me: "The total I owed was $3.21 and I gave you $5.21." Him: "Yeah, you did. Which means you get $1.86 in change." Me: "I think it's actually $2 in change." Yep, I learned math skills at college.
