I learned that in College...

My optometrist was chattin’ it up with me during my recent visit. I’ll let you have a peek at our conversation:

Optometrist: You are taking colleges classes AND working fulltime? How is that working out for you?

Me: Good. I am learning a lot.

Optometrist: I bet you are able to use what you learn in classes in your job, huh?

Me: Yep, I implement a lot of what I learn in class.

Optometrist: Wow, ‘implement’! That’s such a great word!

Me (grinning): Uh-huh.

Optometrist: Yep, implement… such a great word. You know, not many people use a lot of good words like that these days.

Me (smirking): Yeah, I learned it in college.

Katrina, I would have totally succumbed to laughter if you had been there. This optometrist has no idea all that one can learn at college, if one is so inclined.

Maybe optometrists forget the big words because every day all they hear is E..F..P..T..O..Z…
